![]() Interco's TrXus Mud Terrain Tire
The NEW TrXus Mud Terrain is INTERCO'S answer to the need of those who want a smooth, super quiet ride with tough thick sidewalls with a chip and cut resistant compound. This tire has more sipping than any other mud terrain on the market; which has proven to be extremely impressive in icy, snowy, and muddy conditions. If you happen to be a serious rock climber, these dynamic tires will accommodate most every encounter you'll face as well. Each TrXus Mud Terrain tire has its individual specifications and is heavier than the original equipment (with comparable size) tires found on contemporary trucks and SUV's. A surprisingly broad selection of tire sizes can be found at www.intercotire.com. On-Road Performance: As we were anticipating, the TRXUS MT provides a considerably smooth and quiet on-road drive. Properly balanced and running suggested pounds of pressure, only a subtle hum can be heard on asphalt. The predictable hum, common on every other genuine mud-terrain, is decidedly much less noticeable with the TRXUS MT. On wet roadways, traction is comparable to the BFG MT, and in some very wet cases a slightly higher level of driver confidence was noted. With the arrival of current generation mudder tires, skidding while coming to a stop and potential loss of control around turns are, for the most part, tantamount to All-Terrain versions. Essentially, the on-road disparity between All-Terrain and Madder versions are kept to an extreme minimum. Mud Traction: A recent trip to Laughlin, NV, to take a lap around the Score Desert Challenge course, proved to be a rather sloppy adventure. Recent storms generated Muddy hills, and sloppy hard packed sand; this seemed to be the only terrain available. The unique tread pattern of the TrXus Mud Terrain held its ground on all the forms of sand and mud we encountered on the 12-mile course. Although the tread is considerably tight, the mud did not clog the tires. The sand and mud slung out expeditiously, allowing us to have great traction in all areas of the course. The truck utilized for this test was a 2005, Heavy Duty 4x4, Dodge, modified for this task by Unlimited Customs in Valencia, California. We'd like to thank Mr. Sal Fish, President, and Score International for the opportunity take a lap at Laughlin, and enjoy what amounted to be an extreme tire test. Driving ...more next ![]() |
