Hypertech Power Programmer IIIPremium Unleaded Unnecessary! Here's a quintessential programmer that simple to use, loaded with effective functionality and made by a company with historic credibility. No tools and not much thinking involved either, just plug in, answer a few Yes and No preference questions, and you're ready to go! The Hypertech Power Programmer III was installed in our 2006 Power Wagon - Long Term Test Vehicle. The quick and easy installation added an instantaneous and seamless improvement to our Power Wagon's already stellar performance. Our Power Wagon is a manual 6 speed and we noticed significant increases in pull in every gear, the pull is constant and linear all the way up through the original rpm cut-off. Power Wagon's come stock with 4:56 gears, add Hypertech's Power Programmer III and road performance is Viper Truck like (not quite that fast! We encountered what we understand to be a slight improvement in fuel mileage; this would exclude our hot accelerations during max speed tests. The caveat is that even though our truck is experiencing improved performance, it is always controlled and reasonable throttle usage that reveals slightly improved mileage while using the Hypertech Power Programmer III. Our off-road trials experienced significantly improved low-end torque and broader horsepower in the higher RPM range. Very useful on slow sharp turns to wide open runs at relatively steep hills. Our testing included high altitude (8,100 Ft. peaks) fire roads and steep cat track trails at a ski resort in Big Bear, California. And various tracks and trails at Gorman, California, just north of Los Angeles. The salient point of this article was to provide our audience with a product that increased performance while simultaneously offering up improved fuel economy - all on REGULAR UNLEADED fuel. The Hypertech Power Programmer III is that rare product that is capable of providing just that.
