What many believe is the 2009 Dodge Ram |
 |
LOOK FAMILIAR? |
This photo is, according to numerous people, definitely the 2009 Ram. It was taken from the official Mopar.com website. Air appears to be getting diverted into slots above and below the bumper, and that the area underneath the headlights appears to be tilted back to move the air along. In other words, this appears to actually be an aerodynamic front end. One commentator at allpar noted: Look again at that control arm peeking our in the rear its a totally new coil spring design, probably a 3 link, possibly a 5 link ... its been 8 years [since the basic vehicle was designed] ... a coil spring rear suspension almost sunk the new for 1967 Chevy and GMC half-ton pickups. It was not well recieved at all by pickup buyers. (Autoblog reported that it would be a 5-link with 4 trailing arms and a track bar).
We now have three reports confirming this to be the actual production-ready 2009 Dodge Ram prototype. Note the locking cabinets in the rear, which appear to be better integrated than the massive plastic add-ons of the GM Avalance. The pictured truck is a Laramie; another has color-keyed bumpers and little chrome. The sliding doors in the back of the bed on each side are clearly visible. The rear is apparently reminiscient of the Dodge Charger. Ya think? Source: allpar.com
